Brad and Angie Barber opened the first Cabin Coffee in Clear Lake, Iowa on December 6, 2002. They realized their small community was in need of a gathering place—a cozy and friendly spot where friends and neighbors could meet and enjoy coffee that was freshly roasted daily, right in the store. When visitors to their tourist town began to ask if there were other Cabin Coffee locations, Brad and Angie knew they had a unique brand with the potential for growth. Their dream of opening multiple locations began to take shape. 

Two decades and 20+ Cabin Coffee franchise stores later, our story continues to evolve, yet our mission remains the same: to provide every franchisee with the resources they need to build a successful, sustainable coffee shop business in their own community. 

Our slow and controlled growth ensures we stay true to the values that have helped us build the company. Careful planning has given way to expanded product lines, partnerships to provide the highest quality ingredients, and six store model options, from full size stores to a drive thru coffee shop, each with the signature Cabin Coffee Western-theme style. 

And while we are a coffee shop franchise operation, we’re not a cookie-cutter coffee shop chain. We provide ongoing support, but we also encourage each franchise owner to adapt their store to their community, whether through menu offerings, hours of operation, and community involvement.
